How it is calculated
Daily net duration = 24-hour end time − start time − breaks.
The engine uses the same exact minutes as every time card; only the clock presentation is fixed to 24-hour format.

Important cases
- 2200 to 0600 is treated as an overnight shift.
- Military presentation does not change the underlying duration math.
